National Commission for Wildlife Conservation and Development (SWC)

 

A Royal Decree was issued in 1406H for establishing the National Commission for Wildlife Conservation and Development (SWC) with the aim of conserving wildlife (plants and animals) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Commission has succeeded in achieving its objectives through encouraging scientific research in various aspects of environmental studies and finding solutions for problems facing wildlife conservation in the Kingdom through organizing specialized symposia and workshops.. The Commission has also achieved its goals through establishing distinguished programs for wildlife conservation in its natural habitats and producing protected areas system plan and through re-introduction programs which helped significantly in wildlife conservation. The Commission was able to convey its message to the public through a public awareness programs and the permanent exhibition at the SWC Headquarters.
