The founder, His Royal Highness Prince Khaled Bin Sultan of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, understands the magnitude of the challenge to conserve the magnificent life that resides in our world’s common oceans. At one-fifth the size of the United States, Saudi Arabia is flanked by the Red Sea on one side and the Arabian Gulf on the other resulting in a coastline 2,640 km long within reach of some of the most beautiful coral reefs in the world.

America’s coastline is nearly 20,000 km long and the ocean territory in our exclusive economic zone is over 3.4 million square nautical miles – larger than the combined land area of all fifty states! It is apparent that planet Earth should truly be renamed planet Ocean.

¨ Science Without Borders¨ ® is the overarching theme of the Khaled Bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation.
